Churchwide News

  • Our Psalms Sunday Sermon Series: For this series we are featuring a collection of music that comes to you weekly in the Pastors’s email, and also accessible from fpcbeaver.com/psalmsseries. We hope these songs help in preparation for or reflection on what the Lord will bring us in Sunday worship.

  • Summer Fellowship Hour every Sunday morning, June-August, 10 to 11 AM. Plan to join us on the front lawn of the church. Bring the whole family… catch up with old friends, meet new ones and enjoy refreshments!

  • Kingdom Week, begins Sunday, July 13-18 - Join us for this focused mission and serving opportunity in our local communities. We will serve alongside Mt. Carmel Church. Learn all about it and register now if still want to participate - by clicking here.

  • Church in the Park: with Picnic - Save the date Sunday, August 24 at 10 AM! We will have Sunday morning worship at Shaw Park (the Beaver Pool House event space) followed by our all-church picnic all in one location. More details and registration to come. 

  • Support SummerFest! This program supports families needing extra help for the coming school year. In partnership with Inspired Hearts & Hands, you can participate by purchasing coats for students in need in our community. Wrap them in care, warmth and confidence!   • FPC Meal Ministry! Various times throughout the year, members of our church body could benefit from receiving a meal. If you’d like to bless others in this way - please email Ron Cepek at ron.cepek@gmail.com.

  • A Night of Praise with Grammy-Nominated band Honor & Glory in concert Thursday, July 31! Takes place at Mt. Carmel (2720 Brodhead Rd., Aliquippa) at 7 PM (doors open at 6 PM). Special guests: Seek 1st. Free admission - suggested donation $15.

  • The Assoc. Pastor of Adult Discipleship position is being advertised, and we are receiving applications. Please continue to pray for wisdom and discernment for our search team as we seek the person God is calling to serve in this important role. Position is posted at fpcbeaver.com/careers.

  • The Welcome Home Ministry is an outreach helping provide furniture and resources to empower people to start over when they have experienced loss and hardship. We are currently in need of: bed frames, dressers, small dining tables, and small love seats. Contact Stephanie Boyd at the church (sboyd@fpcbeaver.com).   • A ministry to our county: Community Home Rehabilitation Crew (CHRC). We intend to provide home repairs for individuals in our county. If you wish to be part of this volunteer ministry--handy or not--please head to our website for more information, to volunteer or to make a donation (CHRCrew.org). For questions or you're in need of a simple home repair, contact Dale Yakish (daleyakish@gmail.com) or Pastor Arnold (pastorjeffarnold@gmail.com). 

  • If you or a loved one want the Pastoral Staff to know that you need care or a visit, email us at hospital@fpcbeaver.com. If you do not have access to email, contact the church office so that the pastor on call can be contacted.

  • Stephen Ministers are waiting: Don’t struggle alone… Stephen Ministers are available to walk with you. Call 412-974-3168.

  • Please fill out our Pew Pads on Sunday mornings! We pass these around during offering time—please fill these out EVERY Sunday so we can be sure you stay current in our records and receive our mailings. Whether you are a member, regular attendee or a visitor - there is a lot going on here at FPC, we don’t want to miss anyone.

  • Older member of FPC needs a ride to the 9 AM services on Sundays. He'll meet you by the sidewalk, is never late, and he only lives 1/2 mile from the church (on Buffalo St). If you can help please reach out to Jeff Arnold (pastorjeffarnold@gmail.com).

  • Iglesia El Salvador. You may know that FPC is part of a church plant--with David Diaz as founding pastor--in Ambridge. A group of Latino people from Central and South America have been gathering at Church of the Savior (which is, interestingly, what Iglesia El Salvador means) for months now. If you have participated in the past, or have some Spanish speaking skills and/or interest to learn more, please contact Jeff Arnold at (pastorjeffarnold@gmail.com).

  • Interested in becoming a Stephen Minister? As a Stephen Minister you’d be trained to provide one on one care with someone going through a life struggle. This is a listening ministry that shares Christ’s love and care to people in need.   • Hurricane Helene Rebuild Mission (Oct. 20-26) - FPC is taking a team to Swannanoa, NC, where Valley Hope EPC Church has been steadily rebuilding homes in their community, 2 years after the storm devastation. Our team will come alongside for much needed help, please prayerfully consider joining us. THIS SUNDAY, Harper Brady will be at the Summer Fellowship Hour with details and for questions.   • Women’s Summer Bible Study is in session! Tuesdays evenings, 7-8:45, through July 29. We are studying through the book, “Waiting Isn’t a Waste” by Mark Vroegop. If you still want to take part, get details and sign up at fpcbeaver.com/events

  • Young Adult Summer Bible Study is underway! All young adults (singles, couples, young professionals, college-aged) are invited to join us on Monday evenings at 7 PM. You can still sign up at fpcbeaver.com/events

  • The International Mission Committee (IMC) at FPC is seeking new members. The new committee chair is looking to grow the committee. Please contact Becky Antitomas (bantitomas@gmail.com).

  • Domestic Mission Committee seeks new members! Our Domestic Mission Committee represents FPC to mostly Beaver County mission partners. We are looking for new members. If you wish to join us you may speak to chair Dale Cottrill (dale.cottrill@comcast.net).

  • The Technology Crew is still in need of additional volunteers. Areas of need include audio production, video production, computer graphics and video streaming. No specific skills are necessary, and training will be provided. There is an increased need for part-time and substitute volunteers for the 9 AM Fellowship Hall services, although volunteers for any of our services are welcomed. Adult Information

  • Get plugged into a Small Group – This is an excellent opportunity to study scripture, pray with others and learn to live together in loving and caring communities. If you are not currently in a small group and would like to be in one as we come into the  fall, we encourage you to register here. You can choose to register for a men’s, women’s, or co-ed group. Contact Stephanie Boyd with questions.

  • Men’s Ministry here at FPC! Get involved in a men’s discipleship group. You can sign up here and join in anytime!

  • Faith in Action is still in need of more volunteer drivers! NO requirement of how many rides you would need to provide - as this volunteer program is very flexible. Contact Carla McKrell at (814) 450-3985. Driving is mainly within Beaver and Brighton Twp. (Faith in Action is a special ministry that provides rides to older citizens who are shut in. Generally, these rides are provided for those 60 and over.)

  • Looking for Greeters! An easy and rewarding way to serve with a smile. If you’re already here on Sunday mornings – why not bring joy by welcoming congregants into worship. It is a once-a-month opportunity to serve. We are looking for 4 volunteers for the 11:15 Sanctuary service. Contact Lucinda (lpelka@fpcbeaver.com).

High School & Middle School:

  • High School Youth (grades 9-12) Summer Weekly Dinners, from 6-8 PM, this Tuesday at the Hindman family’s home. Each week we meet at different homes. The schedule and locations on our calendar.

  • There is a Philadelphia Project meeting for all participants THIS SUNDAY afternoon, 12:15, on the 3rd floor.  

  • Both HS & MS heading to a baseball game! Plan to join us on Thursday, July 31 for a Washington Wild Things game. We’ll depart church together at 5:30 PM. Ticket cost is $10, and bring money for concessions. Sign up at fpcbeaver.com/events.

  • Middle School Youth (grades 6-8) Summer Weekly Wednesdays, 11 AM-1 PM. Bring a packed lunch and meet in Fellowship Hall for games and looking at what it means to be a Christ centered community.
