Churchwide News

  • Sunday School has concluded for all ages. Classes will resume in September.

  • Make note of our Summer Schedule beginning June 2:

  • Summer Fellowship Hour on Sunday mornings, 10:05-10:50, begins June 2. Plan to join us on the front lawn of the church. Bring the whole family… catch up with old friends, meet new ones and enjoy refreshments! 

  • This Sunday - don’t miss - Blessings Through Adoption and Safe Families for Children are hosting an informational meeting for those interested in the Safe Families mission. We will be discussing what Safe Families does in the community and how you can be involved. If you are interested, join us at 10:15 AM in the Commons. Snacks and coffee will be provided!

  • The After Party 6-part course at FPC. Christians have lost their way when it comes to the intersection of faith & politics. It's time to reframe our political identity as we take the lead in healing what’s broken. Jesus’ call is clear: We are to be salt and light in this world. Come be equipped and encouraged as we prepare for the true party to come. Mark Wednesdays on your calendar beginning May 29 (ending July 3) from 6:30-8 p.m. Details and registration here.

  • The FPC Block Party coming on Saturday, June 15, 11 AM-3 PM, out on the front lawn. We gather with our community in celebration of summer! Music, games, treats, food trucks and learn more about summer ministries. Details here.  

  • Kingdom Week, July 14-19. Learn more about this great summer serve opportunity for all ages. Details and sign up here.

  • The Military Mission of Beaver County is working on packing care packages to send overseas to support troops and let them know they are thought of and loved. There is a donation box in the main office. CLICK HERE for a donation list and other information on how to support.

  • Welcome Home Ministry is an outreach of FPC that concentrates on helping people. We provide furniture, and through our church and local agencies, resources that empower people to start over when they have experienced loss. We have volunteers who handle the logistics like furniture pick up and drop off, but could benefit from others joining us (trucks & SUV's are most welcome).   • If you or a loved one want the Pastoral Staff to know that you need care or a visit, email us at hospital@fpcbeaver.com. If you do not have access to email, contact the church office so that the pastor on call can be contacted.

  • Stephen Ministers are waiting: Don’t struggle alone… Stephen Ministers are available to walk with you. Call 412-974-3168.

  • Please fill out our Pew Pads on Sunday mornings! We pass these around during offering time—please fill these out EVERY Sunday so we can be sure you stay current in our records and receive our mailings. Whether you are a member, regular attendee or a visitor - there is a lot going on here at FPC, we don’t want to miss anyone.

  • Sunday School has concluded and will resume in the fall.

  • We need your help! The Adult Christian Education Committee would like you to click this link and take our brief survey to help us evaluate our Term 4 classes and improve and enrich our Adult Sunday School offerings. We want to hear from you whether you are an Adult Sunday School attendee or not.

  • FPC is looking for a counter. This is a paid position, for 1-2 hours on Mondays. Contact Scott (smiser@fpcbeaver.com).

  • Attention parents… VBS registration is open! Sign up here to join us June 10-13, 9:15-11:30 AM. Incoming preK-5th grade (must be 4 by Aug. 31, grade as of fall 2024) $10/child, $25 family max.

  • Young Adults: You’re invited (singles, couples, young professionals, college-age) to join us for lunch in the Commons on Sunday, May 19, at 12:30 PM, where we’ll highlight some great things happening this summer. Let us know if you are coming from here.

  • The Hope for the Journey Conference will be here at FPC on Saturday, June 1, from 9 AM-6 PM. Come view this conference designed to equip and encourage parents and caregivers meeting the needs of children from hard places, such as children impacted by trauma as well as adoption and/or foster care.   • Prime Timers trip to Phipps Conservatory coming on Sunday, June 2. Postcards were sent in the mail. We will have lunch after the last service and then depart. $21 per person cost (scholarships available). See the details and sign up here. Or contact Lucinda directly (lpelka@fpcbeaver.com). 

  • Plan ahead for a Women's Weekly Summer Bible Study, on Tuesdays, June 18-July 30, with a morning & evening time offered. (Morning will have childcare for babies -5th grade.) Get all the details and register from here

  • Make plans for our Young Adult Summer Study held Monday evenings beginning June 10 from 7-8:30 PM. Register and find out more here.

  • Naomi's Sisters, open to ladies of the church who are widows, is having a lunch on June 7, 12:30 PM at the Wooden Angel ($18 cost). RSVP and make payment to Lynn in the church office.

  • LOOKING FOR some people who have a heart for missions! The International Missions Committee is looking for new members to join us as we support the various missionaries and mission partners of FPC.   • The Better Together Backpack Program has come to an end for this school year. No more donations needed. Keep an eye out for announcements in September as this program will restart food donations for the 2024/25 school year. Many children have been helped with your donations - THANK YOU for all your generosity! 

Adult Information

  • Deacons are offering scholarships for children attending Christian summer camps this summer, regardless of financial status. Click here for details and to apply. Deadline is June 1.

  • Pickle Ball for Men and Women is on Thursday nights, 8-10 PM at the Bradys Run Indoor facility. Join us! There is a $5 (recommended) donation to play. You can sign up here to play.

  • Big Spring workday at Pine Valley Camp tomorrow, May 18. Details at pinevalleycamp.org/volunteer. You can bless the camp by volunteering if you are available.

  • The church plant that FPC supports, Mosaic, is praying for more volunteers to help sustain their growing Sunday morning children's ministry for families with children ages 3-10. The ministry meets during the 11 AM service for 30-40 minutes each week. If you're interested in teaching or simply helping every now and then or regularly, that would be a real blessing to us and the families we serve.   • Get plugged into a Small Group – This is an excellent opportunity to study scripture, pray with others and learn to live together in loving and caring communities. If you are not currently in a small group and would like to be in one as we come into the  fall, we encourage you to register here. You can choose to register for a men’s, women’s, or co-ed group.   • Men’s Ministry here at FPC! Get involved in a men’s discipleship group. You can sign up here and join in anytime!

  • Faith in Action is still in need of more volunteer drivers! NO requirement of how many rides you would need to provide - as this volunteer program is very flexible. Contact Carla McKrell at (814) 450-3985. Driving is mainly within Beaver and Brighton Twp. (Faith in Action is a special ministry that provides rides to older citizens who are shut in. Generally, these rides are provided for those 60 and over.)

  • Looking for Greeters! An easy and rewarding way to serve with a smile. If you’re already here on Sunday mornings – why not bring joy by welcoming congregants into worship. It is a once-a-month opportunity to serve. We are looking for 4 volunteers for the 11:15 Sanctuary service. Contact Lucinda (lpelka@fpcbeaver.com).

High School & Middle School:

  • LAST Sunday School this Sunday, 10:15-11 AM. High School will still meet on the third floor, Middle School guys in Room 204, and girls in 202. Then we will break for the summer months.

  • This Sunday is Confirmation Sunday! Introductions at the 9 AM service. Then Confirmand families please join us on the third floor as we celebrate the 2024 Confirmation Class! (Confirmands will meet on the front steps for a quick class photo right after the 9 AM service).

  • High School Youth Group (grades 9-12), this Sunday, 6:45-8:45 PM, meet at the Perez home (501 Western Ave., Beaver) for a night of food, fellowship and wisdom as we celebrate our seniors. 

  • Middle School Youth Group (grades 6-8), has concluded for the school year. 5th graders have been invited for a get together on May 22 at 4:30 with leaders.

  • QUEST (3rd-5th) Our after school ministry has concluded. Please join us for Summer QUEST starting the week after VBS, June 20: “Park Explorers”, Thursdays ,11 AM-1 PM, meeting at Brady’s Run Park Shelter #4 (bring a lunch and a beach towel, we will play in the creek). *Registration & parental waiver online at fpcbeaver.com/childrensministry.

  • Our Nursery is looking for loving caregivers. If you feel led and are able to serve on a monthly rotation, email Marion Butler.

Children’s Information

  • With Better Together...offering FREE Summer Basketball opportunities for our grade school boys and girls. Our church and the Beaver Area School District are sponsoring a FUNDAMENTAL Basketball Camp for students rising up to grades 2nd-6th at the College Square Gym the week of June 3-7. Register here. A free 3 on 3 mixed Basketball League for boys and girls rising up to grades 4th-6th that played on an organized team this year starts Monday, June 17, at the College Square Gym. Register here by May 24. Space is limited. (There is a $25 late registration fee.) Questions can be emailed to Bill Cutri at wcutri@yahoo.com.
