Churchwide News

  • Sunday School for all ages this Sunday from 10:15-11 AM. See your bulletin on Sunday mornings for locations.

  • A Congregational Meeting has been called for THIS SUNDAY, January 25, at 10 AM in Fellowship Hall, for the purpose of receiving the Annual Report of the Congregation and to vote on the Pastor’s Terms of Call.

  • Souper Saturday of Serve - Join us on Saturday, January 31, 10 AM–2 PM. All ages are welcome as we prepare soup care packages and deliver them to our neighbors in surrounding communities. Visit the Connections Spot or sign up at fpcbeaver.com/events. NOTE: Starting this Sunday, pick up soup item donation tags at the Connections Spot. Please bring all soup items to the Connections Spot by Wednesday, Jan. 28. 

  • 9 AM Overflow Worship: We’re looking for servant-hearted individuals/families who will voluntarily sign up, one Sunday per month, to worship in the Commons at 9 AM. This helps to create ample seating so we can continue to welcome newcomers into our Fellowship Hall Service each week. If you’re willing, go to fpcbeaver.com/events, Overflow Worship to sign up for a particular Sunday. ALSO, on any Sunday if you’re running late and notice limited space, just head over to the Commons!

  • VBS, the mornings of June 15-18 - Please be praying how you can serve in this vital summer ministry. It takes A LOT of willing hearts and hands to offer this week of discipleship to our covenant and community children. We have a variety of opportunities to serve with different age groups preK-5th grade. Interested? Reach out to Marion (mbutler@fpcbeaver.com).

  • Please pick up 2026 offering envelopes in the Round Room. If you do not give online, please use your envelopes as they help facilitate a more efficient accounting process. If you need envelopes or have questions, contact Lynn in the office or at lellenberger@fpcbeaver.com

  • Crop & Kettle would like to invite you and the First Presbyterian community to join us for a first annual memorial fundraiser in honor of our late graduate, Rebecca "Bex" Miller, who's life was tragically taken by homicide early in 2024.

  • FPC is hiring a Contemporary Worship Director for the for the 9 AM service. See fpcbeaver.com/careers

  • FPC participates in Beaver School District's Backpack Program. Throughout the school year we help in providing snacks & ready made meals for children in grades K-12, who are at risk for hunger over the weekends. Visit fpcbeaver.com/events for a donation list, or how to simply donate funds. Drop off weekly to the main office.

  • The Welcome Home Ministry is an outreach helping provide furniture and resources to empower people to start over when they have experienced loss and hardship. We are currently in need of: bed frames, dressers, small dining tables, and small love seats. Contact Stephanie Boyd at the church (sboyd@fpcbeaver.com).   • A ministry to our county: Community Home Rehabilitation Crew (CHRC). We intend to provide home repairs for individuals in our county. If you wish to be part of this volunteer ministry--handy or not--please head to our website for more information, to volunteer or to make a donation (CHRCrew.org).   • Please fill out our Pew Pads on Sunday mornings! We pass these around during offering time—please fill these out EVERY Sunday so we can be sure you stay current in our records and receive our mailings. Whether you are a member, regular attendee or a visitor - there is a lot going on here at FPC, we don’t want to miss anyone.

  • NURSERY - we are looking for one adult caregiver for our 3’s & 4’s room, every 3rd Sunday during the 9 a.m. service. Willing to serve? Contact Marion (mbutler@fpcbeaver.com).

  • 26-27 Preschool Registration! Early online registration (at fpcbeaver.com/preschool) for children of FPC members, currently enrolled 3 year olds, and siblings of alumni, will open at 9 AM Saturday, January 31 and close at 9 AM Saturday, February 7. Registration then immediately opens up to the general public.

  • New Members Class coming - Begins on February 1 during the Sunday School hour, 10:15-11 AM. This 7-week course is moving, interactive and informative! You will meet FPC elders and church leaders, and learn what membership entails at our church. You can still register from fpcbeaver.com/events. We look forward to seeing you there! (Note: required for membership.)

  • Prime Timers - Join us on Friday, Feb. 6, from 5:15-7:45 PM in the Commons. Dan Hogan, Singer & Entertainer, returns for a Broadway themed evening of Dinner and Live Music. We encourage registration by February 2 at fpcbeaver.com/events. Or email lpelka@fpcbeaver.com or call the church office.

  • Men’s Breakfast - February 21! All men are invited to join us in the Commons from 7:30-9 AM. Enjoy a delicious breakfast and fellowship time with other men. You can sign up at fpcbeaver.com/events

  • From Hodge Band: We’ve been a ladies “Aid Society” to First Presbyterian Church since 1892, named after Dr. Charles Hodge, Princeton Seminary’s well known theologian. We are still serving First Presbyterian Church Beaver. We enjoy fellowship together monthly via a delicious luncheon made by members in the Commons. We run bean soup mix sales, Rummage sales, Garrison Day sale and Hodge Podge sale. The sales provide funds for church building improvement projects, support for mission trips, supplement to preschool tuition and other special projects. Also, we provide funeral lunches and dinners when requested. We recently began a church kitchen oversight committee. We are open to any women of the church (dues are $1 per year!) and welcome you to come to lunch the first Wednesday of the month (September through June) at 12:30 PM.

  • Register your kids for Summer Camp at Ligonier Camp! Early birds get the shirt! Register for Ligonier Camp 2026 before January 31st at midnight and score an exclusive camp tee, only available to early registrants. It won’t be sold in the camp store! Sign up now at www.ligoniercamp.org.

  • Haven of Hope is a gathering of people praying for the prodigals in their lives. Whatever the reason for our loved ones moving away from God is, we want to keep praying for God’s intervention in their lives and His wisdom for us as we stand in the gap and love them with grace and wisdom. “And He told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart” Luke 18:1. This is held every 4th Wednesday, 7-8:30 PM, in various homes. You can still join! If you are interested in joining us or have questions, click here.   • Interested in becoming a Stephen Minister? As a Stephen Minister you’d be trained to provide one on one care with someone going through a life struggle. This is a listening ministry that shares Christ’s love and care to people in need. If interested and want to learn more, contact Kathy Davis at daviskbc@comcast.net.  

Adult Information

  • Get plugged into a Small Group – This is an excellent opportunity to study scripture, pray with others and learn to live together in loving and caring communities. If you are not currently in a small group and would like to be in one as we come into the  fall, we encourage you to register here. You can choose to register for a men’s, women’s, or co-ed group. Contact Jeremiah Stauffer with questions.

  • Men’s Ministry here at FPC! Get involved in a men’s discipleship group. You can sign up here and join in anytime!

  • Faith in Action is still in need of more volunteer drivers! NO requirement of how many rides you would need to provide - as this volunteer program is very flexible. Contact Carla McKrell at (814) 450-3985. Driving is mainly within Beaver and Brighton Twp. (Faith in Action is a special ministry that provides rides to older citizens who are shut in. Generally, these rides are provided for those 60 and over.)

  • Looking for Greeters! An easy and rewarding way to serve with a smile. If you’re already here on Sunday mornings – why not bring joy by welcoming congregants into worship. It is a once-a-month opportunity to serve. Contact Lucinda (lpelka@fpcbeaver.com).
