Churchwide News

  • Visit the hallway Connections Spot on Sunday mornings for further information on current activities here at FPC.  

  • FINAL DAY that Blessings Through Adoption is raffling a Grand Playhouse to raise funds benefiting their ministry. Raffle tickets are $10, cash or checks only - TODAY. Call/text Cynthia at 724-650-9331, or email at crenfroe@blessingsthroughadoption.org.

  • The Social Lab that was to take place at FPC this week has been CANCELLED.  

  • Hodge Band Rummage Sale is in a couple weeks, on Wednesday, Oct. 7 (9 AM-7 PM) & Thursday, Oct. 8 (9 AM-noon). As you are cleaning up around the house, you can plan ahead for any donations. Begin dropping off donations on Sunday, Oct. 4, in Fellowship Hall, starting at 12:30. For more info and a list of items NOT being accepted, visit fpcbeaver.com/events.

  • Backpack Program! Better Together partners with BASD National Honor Society is again providing snacks & ready made meals for children in grades K-12, who are at risk for hunger over the weekends. Visit fpcbeaver.com/events for a donation list, or how to simply donate funds. Drop off weekly to the main office.

  • Operation Christmas Child 2026 coming next month! OCC brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes and the message of God’s true love. On Oct. 18, you can pick up boxes in the hallway by the elevator. Info at fpcbeaver.com/events.

  • Military Mission - A box is in the office for the collection of donations that will be shipped to our Military. List of items include Granola, Fruit or Protein Bars, Cookie & Cracker Packs, Tuna & Chicken Packs, Trail Mix, Microwave Soup & Popcorn. See their NEW website for details and print out the full list at MilitaryMissionofBC.org. Deadline is Oct. 31.

  • Security at FPC: As our security implementation has progressed, we could still use some volunteer security people on our teams. This would require about 1 1/2 hours per month during Sunday mornings. If you’d like more information, please contact Coordinator John Muslovski at jpmuslovski@gmail.com or Jeff at pastorjeffarnold@gmail.com. ‍ ‍

  • 9 AM Overflow Worship: Each Sunday, at our 9 AM Fellowship Hall service, we have overflow in our Commons. We’re looking for servant-hearted individuals/families who will voluntarily sign up, one Sunday per month. This helps create ample seating so we can continue to welcome newcomers into our Fellowship Hall Service each week. If you’re willing, go to fpcbeaver.com/events, Overflow Worship to sign up for a particular Sunday. If you’re running late and notice limited space, just head over to the Commons!

  • FPC is hiring a full time Director of Contemporary Worship & Worship Technology. Details and how to apply at fpcbeaver.com/careers. 

  • The Welcome Home Ministry is an outreach helping provide furniture and resources to empower people to start over when they have experienced loss and hardship. We are currently in need of: bed frames, dressers, small dining tables, and small love seats. Contact Stephanie Boyd at the church (sboyd@fpcbeaver.com).   • A ministry to our county: Community Home Rehabilitation Crew (CHRC). We intend to provide home repairs for individuals in our county. If you wish to be part of this volunteer ministry--handy or not--please head to our website for more information, to volunteer or to make a donation (CHRCrew.org).   • If you or a loved one want the Pastoral Staff to know that you need care or a visit, email us at hospital@fpcbeaver.com. If you do not have access to email, contact the church office so that the pastor on call can be contacted.

  • Stephen Ministers are waiting: Don’t struggle alone… Stephen Ministers are available to walk with you. Call 412-974-3168.

  • Please fill out our Pew Pads on Sunday mornings! We pass these around during offering time—please fill these out EVERY Sunday so we can be sure you stay current in our records and receive our mailings. Whether you are a member, regular attendee or a visitor - there is a lot going on here at FPC, we don’t want to miss anyone.

  • Young Adult Bible Study: This group has just begun and still has plenty of room for you! The Young Adult Bible study is on Monday nights from 7-8:30 p.m. Contact Andrew DiNardo (adinardo@fpcbeaver.com) with questions and to get connected.

  • Men’s Breakfast coming: All men are invited to join us on Saturday, September 26, from 7:30-9 AM. Get signed up at the Connections Spot or at fpcbeaver.com/events.

  • Men’s Fall Retreat - All men invited on Saturday, October 10. Together, we’ll talk about spiritual disciplines and consider what God may be calling each of us to as we continue our journey with Jesus. Join us at Prayer Mountain in Darlington, PA.   • Progreso Mission Trip, March 8-15. We’re heading back to the church in Progreso, Mexico. Information packets and applications can be found at the Connections Spot or at fpcbeaver.com/missions. Applications are due Sept. 30.

  • Prime Timers - SAVE THE DATE, Friday, October 16! We are having a "Night at the Movies" bring a friend event in the Commons from 6-8 PM. More details coming next week. 

  • Worship & Music is looking for a few people interested in serving on the committee? We meet on the 3rd Monday of every month.For more info or to join, please contact Don Williams (don.r.williams@gmail.com).

  • Interested in becoming a Stephen Minister? As a Stephen Minister you’d be trained to provide one on one care with someone going through a life struggle. This is a listening ministry that shares Christ’s love and care to people in need. If interested and want to learn more, contact Kathy Davis at daviskbc@comcast.net.  

Adult Information

  • Get plugged into a Small Group – This is an excellent opportunity to study scripture, pray with others and learn to live together in loving and caring communities. If you are not currently in a small group and would like to be in one as we come into the  fall, we encourage you to register here. You can choose to register for a men’s, women’s, or co-ed group. Contact Jeremiah Stauffer with questions.

  • Men’s Ministry here at FPC! Get involved in a men’s discipleship group. You can sign up here and join in anytime!

  • Faith in Action always needs more volunteer drivers! NO requirement of how many rides you would need to provide - as this volunteer program is very flexible. Contact Carla McKrell at (814) 450-3985. Driving is mainly within Beaver and Brighton Twp. (Faith in Action is a special ministry that provides rides to older citizens who are shut in. Generally, these rides are provided for those 60 and over.)

  • Looking for Greeters for 11 AM service - An easy and rewarding way to serve with a smile. If you’re already here on Sunday mornings – why not bring joy by welcoming congregants into worship. It is a once-a-month opportunity to serve. Contact Lucinda (lpelka@fpcbeaver.com).

Student Information

High School & Middle School:

  • Sunday School begins this morning, 10:15-11 AM. Middle School girls in Room 202, and boys NOW IN Room 210. All High Schoolers on the 3rd Floor.

  • High Schoolers (9th-12th grade) Youth Group on Sundays, 6:45-8:45 PM. Come for an evening of fellowship, games and spending time in God’s word.  

  • Middle Schoolers (6th-8th grade) Youth Group on Wednesdays, 6:45-8:30 PM. Join us for an evening of fellowship, games and spending time in God’s word.

  • SPARKS (K-2nd), Mondays 4:30-5:30 PM. Meet us in Fellowship Hall for play, music time and Bible study. As we learn this fall about the renewal Jesus will bring at his Second Coming, we will explore this week how that renewal will affect God’s relationship with his people, the church: what the Bible calls the NEW JERUSALEM (Revelation 21:2-3).

  • QUEST (3rd-5th), Thursdays 6:30-8 PM. Join us for games, snack, Bible lesson & small group time. This week’s lesson looks at the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and how that led into all humankind being sinful and separated from God. But because GOD IS REDEEMER, He had a plan from the beginning and showed His love by sending His Son to redeem all humankind from sin.
