Churchwide News

  • Visit the hallway Connections Spot on Sunday mornings for further information on current activities here at FPC.  

  • The FIX YOUR FACE Campaign kicks off this Sunday, October 11. We are updating the church directory and you will want to update your photo at the Connections Spot. Learn more at fpcbeaver.com/events. 

  • Prayer Service - We’re gathering in the Sanctuary on Sunday, October 18, at 6 PM for a special time of prayer. All are welcome to come for this beautiful time in the LORD.

  • Operation Christmas Child 2026 coming next Sunday! OCC brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes and the message of God’s true love. On Oct. 18, you can pick up boxes in the hallway by the elevator. Info at fpcbeaver.com/events.

  • Love Your Neighbor Serve Say coming - Join us on Saturday, October 24, from 2-5 PM. We will be loving on our neighbors by helping clean up yards for fall. All ages are welcome! Information and registration can be found at fpcbeaver.com/events.

  • Maze Craze All-Church event - Plan to join us Sunday, October 25, 3-6 PM. A fun time enjoying the maze, bonfires, hayrides, games and harvest fun. $12 cost for ages 5 & above. All are welcome! (Address: Maze Craze, 14070 OH-165, New Springfield, OH 44443). Visit fpcbeaver.com/events. 

  • Backpack Program! Better Together partners with BASD National Honor Society is again providing snacks & ready made meals for children in grades K-12, who are at risk for hunger over the weekends. Visit fpcbeaver.com/events for a donation list, or how to simply donate funds. Drop off weekly to the main office.

  • Military Mission - A box is in the office for the collection of donations that will be shipped to our Military. List of items include Granola, Fruit or Protein Bars, Cookie & Cracker Packs, Tuna & Chicken Packs, Trail Mix, Microwave Soup & Popcorn.   • Security at FPC: As our security implementation has progressed, we could still use some volunteer security people on our teams. This would require about 1 1/2 hours per month during Sunday mornings. If you’d like more information, please contact Coordinator John Muslovski at jpmuslovski@gmail.com or Jeff at pastorjeffarnold@gmail.com. ‍ ‍

  • 9 AM Overflow Worship: Each Sunday, at our 9 AM Fellowship Hall service, we have overflow in our Commons. We’re looking for servant-hearted individuals/families who will voluntarily sign up, one Sunday per month. This helps create ample seating so we can continue to welcome newcomers into our Fellowship Hall Service each week. If you’re willing, go to fpcbeaver.com/events, Overflow Worship to sign up for a particular Sunday. If you’re running late and notice limited space, just head over to the Commons!

  • FPC is hiring a full time Director of Contemporary Worship & Worship Technology. Details and how to apply at fpcbeaver.com/careers. 

  • The Welcome Home Ministry is an outreach helping provide furniture and resources to empower people to start over when they have experienced loss and hardship. We are currently in need of: bed frames, dressers, small dining tables, and small love seats. Contact Stephanie Boyd at the church (sboyd@fpcbeaver.com).   • A ministry to our county: Community Home Rehabilitation Crew (CHRC). We intend to provide home repairs for individuals in our county. If you wish to be part of this volunteer ministry--handy or not--please head to our website for more information, to volunteer or to make a donation (CHRCrew.org).   • If you or a loved one want the Pastoral Staff to know that you need care or a visit, email us at hospital@fpcbeaver.com. If you do not have access to email, contact the church office so that the pastor on call can be contacted.

  • Stephen Ministers are waiting: Don’t struggle alone… Stephen Ministers are available to walk with you. Call 412-974-3168.

  • Please fill out our Pew Pads on Sunday mornings! We pass these around during offering time—please fill these out EVERY Sunday so we can be sure you stay current in our records and receive our mailings. Whether you are a member, regular attendee or a visitor - there is a lot going on here at FPC, we don’t want to miss anyone.

  • Men’s Fall Retreat TOMORROW - All men invited on Saturday, October 10. Together, we’ll talk about spiritual disciplines and consider what God may be calling each of us to as we continue our journey with Jesus. Join us at Prayer Mountain in Darlington, PA.   • Prime Timers “Bring a Friend” Movie Night - just 1 week away! We’ll watch the movie “Blue Miracle”, an inspirational and feel good film based on a true event (rated PG). Join us in the Commons on Friday, October 16, from 6-8 PM. We will have all the movie theater refreshments for you. And we encourage you to bring family & friends! EVERYONE is INVITED to come!   • A Mental Health Webinar coming: Dr. Amy Kelly will speak on "Seasonal Affective Disorder" (SAD) discussing what it is, what treatments are available and how family and friends can support loved ones who struggle with it.   • Young Adult Bible Study: This group has just begun and still has plenty of room for you! The Young Adult Bible study is on Monday nights from 7-8:30 PM. Contact Andrew DiNardo (adinardo@fpcbeaver.com) with questions and to get connected.

  • Worship & Music is looking for a few people interested in serving on the committee? We meet on the 3rd Monday of every month.For more info or to join, please contact Don Williams (don.r.williams@gmail.com).

  • Interested in becoming a Stephen Minister? As a Stephen Minister you’d be trained to provide one on one care with someone going through a life struggle. This is a listening ministry that shares Christ’s love and care to people in need. If interested and want to learn more, contact Kathy Davis at daviskbc@comcast.net.  

Adult Information

  • Get plugged into a Small Group – This is an excellent opportunity to study scripture, pray with others and learn to live together in loving and caring communities. If you are not currently in a small group and would like to be in one as we come into the  fall, we encourage you to register here. You can choose to register for a men’s, women’s, or co-ed group. Contact Jeremiah Stauffer with questions.

  • Men’s Ministry here at FPC! Get involved in a men’s discipleship group. You can sign up here and join in anytime!

  • Faith in Action always needs more volunteer drivers! NO requirement of how many rides you would need to provide - as this volunteer program is very flexible. Contact Carla McKrell at (814) 450-3985. Driving is mainly within Beaver and Brighton Twp. (Faith in Action is a special ministry that provides rides to older citizens who are shut in. Generally, these rides are provided for those 60 and over.)

  • Looking for Greeters for 11 AM service - An easy and rewarding way to serve with a smile. If you’re already here on Sunday mornings – why not bring joy by welcoming congregants into worship. It is a once-a-month opportunity to serve. Contact Lucinda (lpelka@fpcbeaver.com).

Student Information

High School & Middle School:

  • Sunday School, 10:15-11 AM. Middle School girls in Room 202, and boys in Room 210. All High Schoolers on the 3rd Floor.

  • High Schoolers (9th-12th grade) Youth Group on Sundays, 6:45-8:45 PM. Come for an evening of fellowship, games and spending time in God’s word.  And BONUS... tonight is a Youth Group Plus night! Join us for an extra hour (until 9:45) as we play one of our favorite games in the dark! 

  • MAZE CRAZE Event: Sunday, October 25, instead of having regular Youth Group we will be going to the Maze Craze in the afternoon! We will ride down together and we will cover your cost to attend. *Note that the High School Registration is separate from the all-church one.

  • Middle Schoolers (6th-8th grade) Youth Group on Wednesdays, 6:45-8:30 PM. Join us for an evening of fellowship, games and spending time in God’s word.

  • Sunday School, 10:15-11 AM. Children in grades PreK through 5th are collecting an offering to support the National Honor Society Backpack Program at BASD this ministry year.

  • WORSHIP: Make sure to pick up our newly designed Kids Bulletin to help you follow along and learn more about the different elements of our worship service!

  • SPARKS (K-2nd), Mondays 4:30-5:30 PM. We are not meeting this Monday, October 12. 

  • QUEST (3rd-5th), Thursdays 6:30-8 PM. Join us for games, snack, Bible lesson & small group time. We will continue to follow the story of Abraham this week, and learn that GOD IS FAITHFUL (Genesis 22:1-18).
