Churchwide News

  • Hodge Band Rummage Sale is coming on Wednesday, May 6 (9 AM-7 PM) & Thursday, May 7 (9 AM-noon). Donation drop off day is Sunday, May 3. Keep this in mind when you are doing your spring clean out. Visit fpcbeaver.com/events for more info and a list of items NOT being accepted.

  • National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 7. Join us for an afternoon Community Prayer Service at the Gazebo in the park, from noon-1:30. (In the sanctuary if rain.)

  • Connections Sunday: Hope to see you on Sunday, June 14 (note the date change) in the Commons, from 10 -11a.m. Join us for Summer Fellowship and an hour dedicated to getting you connected here at FPC in the different ways we haveavailable.   • FPC Block Party - Mark your calendars! We are kicking off the summer on Saturday afternoon, May 30, from 11-2. This will be a celebration for ALL AGES and we are inviting the community. Details coming soon to fpcbeaver.com/events. Be on the look out and see how you can participate in this fun day!

  • The Tech Crew is looking for volunteers to help with the projected slides in the sanctuary services and for someone to assist with mixing the audio for the streamed services.  No prior experience is necessary, and training will be provided. Please see Doug Martin (dg1martin@gmail.com) or any tech crew member for more information.

  • 9 AM Overflow Worship: Each Sunday, at our 9 AM Fellowship Hall service, we have overflow in our Commons. We’re looking for servant-hearted individuals/families who will voluntarily sign up, one Sunday per month. This helps create ample seating so we can continue to welcome newcomers into our Fellowship Hall Service each week. If you’re willing, go to fpcbeaver.com/events, Overflow Worship to sign up for a particular Sunday. If you’re running late and notice limited space, just head over to the Commons!

  • FPC is hiring a full time Director of Contemporary Worship & Worship Technology and an Associate Pastor for Care. Details and how to apply at fpcbeaver.com/careers

  • FPC participates in Beaver School District's Backpack Program. Throughout the school year we help in providing snacks & ready made meals for children in grades K-12, who are at risk for hunger over the weekends. We will take donations till mid-May and then break for the summer. Visit fpcbeaver.com/events for a donation list, or how to simply donate funds. Drop off weekly to the main office.

  • The Welcome Home Ministry is an outreach helping provide furniture and resources to empower people to start over when they have experienced loss and hardship. We are currently in need of: bed frames, dressers, small dining tables, and small love seats. Contact Stephanie Boyd at the church (sboyd@fpcbeaver.com).   • A ministry to our county: Community Home Rehabilitation Crew (CHRC). We intend to provide home repairs for individuals in our county. If you wish to be part of this volunteer ministry--handy or not--please head to our website for more information, to volunteer or to make a donation (CHRCrew.org). For questions or you're in need of a simple home repair, contact Dale Yakish (daleyakish@gmail.com) or Pastor Arnold (pastorjeffarnold@gmail.com). 

  • If you or a loved one want the Pastoral Staff to know that you need care or a visit, email us at hospital@fpcbeaver.com. If you do not have access to email, contact the church office so that the pastor on call can be contacted.

  • Stephen Ministers are waiting: Don’t struggle alone… Stephen Ministers are available to walk with you. Call 412-974-3168.

  • Please fill out our Pew Pads on Sunday mornings! We pass these around during offering time—please fill these out EVERY Sunday so we can be sure you stay current in our records and receive our mailings. Whether you are a member, regular attendee or a visitor - there is a lot going on here at FPC, we don’t want to miss anyone.

  • Parents of Graduates: We want to recognize all graduating students this spring (high school, college, graduate school).   • Women’s Summer Study coming on Tuesdays, June 9-July 28. We’re offering 2 times, 9:30-10:30 AM & 7-8 PM. Plan ahead to join us as we dive into the book, “Humble Roots” by Hannah Anderson. Go to fpcbeaver.com/events.

  • Mental Health & Legal Help Seminar coming to FPC Saturday, May 30, 9 AM-noon. Details and sign ups at fpcbeaver.com/events

  • Ligonier Work Days! Inviting you and your friends to volunteer on Saturday, May 16. Breakfast at 8:30. Will work from 9-1, have lunch, then clean up and depart. Email John Finkbeiner atjohnjfink@yahoo.com.

  • Parents! Deacons are offering scholarships for children attending Christian summer camps, regardless of financial status. For details and to apply, visit fpcbeaver.com/events. If you want to give to help support this ministry, please give to the church and designate your donation for the Deacons fund.

  • Interested in becoming a Stephen Minister? As a Stephen Minister you’d be trained to provide one on one care with someone going through a life struggle. This is a listening ministry that shares Christ’s love and care to people in need. If interested and want to learn more, contact Kathy Davis at daviskbc@comcast.net.  

Adult Information

  • Get plugged into a Small Group – This is an excellent opportunity to study scripture, pray with others and learn to live together in loving and caring communities. If you are not currently in a small group and would like to be in one as we come into the  fall, we encourage you to register here. You can choose to register for a men’s, women’s, or co-ed group. Contact Jeremiah Stauffer with questions.

  • Men’s Ministry here at FPC! Get involved in a men’s discipleship group. You can sign up here and join in anytime!

  • Faith in Action always needs more volunteer drivers! NO requirement of how many rides you would need to provide - as this volunteer program is very flexible. Contact Carla McKrell at (814) 450-3985. Driving is mainly within Beaver and Brighton Twp. (Faith in Action is a special ministry that provides rides to older citizens who are shut in. Generally, these rides are provided for those 60 and over.)

  • Looking for Greeters for 11:15 AM service - An easy and rewarding way to serve with a smile. If you’re already here on Sunday mornings – why not bring joy by welcoming congregants into worship. It is a once-a-month opportunity to serve. Contact Lucinda (lpelka@fpcbeaver.com).

  • SPARKS (K-2nd), Mondays 4.30-5.30 PM. Meet us in the Fellowship Hall for play, Music time and our Bible study on selected Psalms. This week we will learn from Psalm 91 that when we are afraid we can trust in God.

  • QUEST (3rd-5th), Thursdays 6.30-8 PM. Join us for games, snack, Bible lesson & small group time.This week’s study takes place at the end of Paul’s life. Because of his hardships, Paul had empathy for believers. He knew that GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US.

  • Rainforest Falls VBS, June 15-18: We hope your kids can come join us for “Exploring the Nature of God”. Registration is OPEN for age 4 through 5th grade (as of fall 2026). Go to fpcbeaver.com/events.

  • Register for Summer Camp at Ligonier Camp and Conference Center! Located in the Laurel Highlands, camp offers overnight programs for grades 1–12 and Family Camp.
