VISION
A summer internship for current college students, providing them with a ministry opportunity that will prepare them for vocational ministry, or life long lay ministry in the church of Jesus Christ.
JOB DESCRIPTION
10 weeks – May 29th, through August 6th 2024
Compensation- $3500
Reports directly to Director of Discipleship, Student and Children’s Ministry
Directors and will execute all ministry assignments with excellence.
This position will require some evening and weekend responsibilities.
Applicants must have either completed sophomore year of college or be of
an equivalent age.
The successful candidate must bring intuitive ministry gifts and a creative approach to student and children’s ministry. The candidate must be able to jump in and take the lead in planning and running ministry events executing them from start to finish. They must work well in a team ministry approach and be self-motivated and highly reliable. This position requires a flexible heart and attitude.
Spiritual Commitments
○ Attend weekly worship at FPC and be committed to regular personal devotions.
○ Meet weekly with all Discipleship Ministry team for devotions, prayer and ongoing training.
○ Attend one day planning/training/retreat with Discipleship ministry team at beginning of the summer
Primary Responsibilities
Help plan and coordinate all summer children’s ministry which includes high involvement in Vacation Bible School in cooperation with Director of Children’s Ministry.
Assist with staffing and overseeing the nursery ministry, including Sunday morning staffing in cooperation with Director of Children’s Ministry.
Plan and coordinate all Middle School and High School Ministry events in cooperation with the Student Ministry Director. Participate in all retreats and ministry events.
Coordinate Middle school and High School Bible studies by planning and assisting in leading them for the 10 weeks of summer.
Help plan and coordinate any other discipleship activities as assigned by Director of Discipleship.
