Ready Yourselves Youth Ranch
This is a chaplaincy that reaches the mental health community in Beaver County with the Gospel, and offers help, hope, and healing through Jesus. Abby Opal is the founder and chaplain of this ministry in addition to being the pastor at Mill Creek EPC. Although she is supported with oversite, both financially and spiritually, by the Session of Mill Creek EPC, she must raise $15,000 to help with the cost of her salary and the programming that she provides. Under the auspices of First Presbyterian Church, she offers programs within Let’s Talk about Mental Health. This past spring, a workshop was offered at FPC regarding Mental Health and Legal Help. This ministry is working to eliminate the stigma of mental health within churches. A goal for this chaplaincy is to create a mentoring program in churches with the people that Pastor Abby that she works with to partner with people in the churches for a one-on-one discipleship relationship.
