FPC Call to Action:
Supporting families during the Federal Budget Crisis
Dear FPC Family,
Many of you have reached out asking how we, as a church, can respond to the current federal budget crisis that is impacting food assistance programs like SNAP in our area. As you know, we are already supporting a number of local partners working to meet the needs of families, including The Center in Midland, the YMCA, the Backpack Program in our schools, and others. However, given the current circumstances, we feel led to highlight two specific opportunities for us to make an impact.
1. Food Distribution through Inspired Hearts and Hands
We are continuing our partnership with Inspired Hearts and Hands to address food insecurity among families with students in our local school districts. Although this initiative was planned before the current crisis, the need has only grown, and we are committed to moving forward. As we continue to collect donations, we will keep you informed about specific items needed and share updates on how you can contribute.
WE ARE NO LONGER TAKING DONATIONS AT FPC - BUT YOU CAN CLICK THE LINK FOR OTHER WAYS TO HELP.
2. Support for the Salvation Army in Beaver Falls
We have also reached out to the Salvation Army in Beaver Falls to offer our support. While they have some food items, there is a significant need for donations of soups and pasta. If you are able to contribute, you may either drop off these items directly at the Salvation Army or bring them to the church, and we will pass them along. Additionally, you can make checks payable to FPC Beaver, designated for the Salvation Army Food Bank, and we will ensure that 100% of your donation, along with emergency funds we’ve already sent, goes directly to their efforts.
A Call for Volunteers
As many organizations, including the Salvation Army, have had to make staff cuts, the need for volunteers has increased. If you are able to give your time, please consider reaching out to the Salvation Army or other local organizations to offer your services.
Thank you for your continued generosity and compassion. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in our community during this critical time.
Blessings,
Ministry Staff of FPC
