Family Guidance
Family Guidance is a faith-based 60 plus year-old entity that serves youth from 7 to 17 from underserved neighborhoods in the Pittsburgh region, including Aliquippa, through intentional relationships and the promise of Jesus Christ. One2One Mentoring is an essential part of establishing relationships with a child and provides a stable force in the child’s life. Mentors are carefully chosen for each child so that a strong bond can occur. In addition, Family Guidance offers Promise Camp, which runs for six weeks in the summer with each week targeting specific age groups. Promise Camp is a highly relational, Christian-centered, residential summer camp that impacts several hundred children each summer and provides a place of unconditional love and acceptance. In addition to the usual camp activities of swimming, rock climbing, and hiking, a gospel lesson is included each day so that the children learn about God’s unconditional love.
